Every Guitar Has a Story

The guitars, musicians and stories behind Pardo Guitar Straps.

Real Guitars. Real Musicians. Real Stories.

Some guitars have been played for decades.

Others have travelled from stage to stage.

Some have been passed down through generations.

Others have become part of everyday life at home.

And some are only beginning their journey.

Whether played on stage or simply at home, every guitar has its own story.

This page celebrates the guitars, the musicians and the stories that make every instrument unique. We're simply honoured that our handmade straps have become a small part of some of those journeys.

Meet the Guitars

Six Guitars, Six Distinctive Voices

Shared by: T-Meaux from Lake Houston, Texas

This remarkable collection brings together six guitars with very different origins, designs and musical personalities. From vintage instruments to unique custom builds, each one has its own voice, its own character and a story worth discovering.

  • Fender Parallel Universe Strazzmaster in Metallic Surf Green, combining a Stratocaster body shape with Jazzmaster-inspired features.

    Fender Parallel Universe "Strazzmaster"

I admit of not being a big fan of Fender's offset body shapes and therefore never owned a Jazzmaster, not even Kurt Cobain's Jaguar could change my mind. But there was that limited edition featuring a Jazzmaster in a Stratocaster body shape and I finally caught up.

That Surf Green Metallic states perfectly the vibes of the 60s SoCal Surf Rock. And the green Pardo strap just pushes it over the top!!

  • Made-in-Japan Fender XII 12-string guitar in sparkling Lake Placid Metallic Blue, paired with a Blue Woodstock guitar strap.

Fender XII - made in Japan

Many years ago was chasing the tone of "Stairway to Heaven". I learned from a friend who happened to be a music producer, that Jimmy Page used a Fender 12 string guitar when recording, rather than the famous Gibson double-neck model EDS 1275, which Jimmy used preferably on stage.

The blue version of the Jimi Hendrix strap is a perfect match to the sparkling Lake Placid Metallic Blue.

  • PRS McCarty 594 Singlecut featuring hand-selected Wood Library figuring, displayed with a patterned Pardo guitar strap.

    PRS McCarty 594 Singlecut

The guitar builder Paul Reed Smith from Stevensville MD is famous for his cooperation mit Gibsons mastermind Theodore McCarty.

This guitar features handselected woods from the PRS Wood Library, a 24.594" scale length and the low output 58/15 pickups with very authentic retro sound characteristics. A bit more sparkle to the well-appreciated Les Paul sound.

  • PRS Hollowbody II Piezo with tremolo in Caribbean Dragon’s Breath, featuring colorful stone bird inlays and a matching Pardo guitar strap.

PRS Hollowbody II piezo & tremolo

This might be the most versatile guitar in my house. It is a true hollowbody construction using carved maple wood, rather than plywood.

The acoustic piezo system adds to the electric humbucker sounds and widens the sound spectrum incredibly. Even the pure acoustic sound is convincing and adding a tremolo - just gives you wings. Following the Caribbean Dragon Burst theme, the fretboard bird inlays are made from malachite, jasper and lapislazuli.
I was delighted to find a beautifully made Pardo strap that complements its distinctive Caribbean Dragon’s Breath finish.

  • Vintage 1966 Gibson ES-330 hollowbody electric guitar paired with a handcrafted Spanish Pardo guitar strap.

    1966 Gibson ES-330

Some guitars you cannot find on Reverb, Sweetwater or in your local Guitar Center.

This unmodified guitar I've found in a pawn shop in Humble, Texas. It comes with wonderful articulated P-90 pickups and an extremely resonant hollow body.

Exactly what I need to play Delta Blues or Southern Rock. And what would be better on an ES - Electric Spanish guitar as a Spanish strap?!

  • Self-built lefty-style Hendrix tribute Stratocaster made from selected woods, paired with a Jimi Hendrix-inspired Pardo strap with customized leather ends.

    My self-build Hendrix tribute

My own Jimi Hendrix tribute guitar.

I made my lefty converted Stratocaster from selected woods, such as roasted maple and swamp ash.

Intentionally, I added Arizona Turquoise applications as fretboard markers and knobs - a gemstone used in traditions of Southern native people, connecting the cultures of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. I'm sure, Jimi would have liked that.

1982 Aria Pro II guitar made in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, paired with a Green Meadow Pardo guitar strap

Aria Pro II ES-500 Japan 1982

Shared by: M.P.P. Barcelona, Spain

I bought this 1982 Aria Pro II a few years ago. Made in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, it was already in fairly good condition, but after more than forty years it needed some attention.

I decided it was worth bringing it properly back to life. I had it refretted, replaced the pickups and the faulty Varitone switch, and fitted a new Japanese-made Gotoh bridge to replace the badly worn original.

Little by little, the guitar came back to life, and that's probably one of the reasons I've become so attached to it. It sounds surprisingly good and feels like an extremely well-made instrument every time I pick it up.

It may not have been with me since 1982, but after giving it a second life, it very much feels like my guitar.
